Journalism.co.uk launches two new pages to track job cuts and international press freedom
Two new regular pages have been launched on Journalism.co.uk. One will track job cuts in the current media climate; the other will trace issues of media freedom affecting journalists across the world. To chronicle what has happened so far and provide updates on the international situation, Journalism.co.uk has created a timeline using Dipity, which you can find as part of a page dedicated to covering the recession as it affects journalists. You can follow updates to the timeline on Twitter at @journojobcuts or by subscribing to the RSS feed: http://www.dipity.com/Journalismcouk/personal/rss. Journalism.co.uk also tries to follow up on the most important media stories of the day from a global and online perspective. The new page is the opportunity to publicise and track threats to press freedom around the world, highlighting the work of international journalism organisations, such as Reporters Without Borders (RSF) and the Committee to Protect Journalists. The Dipity timeline, map and list can be manually updated by any user. Journalism.co.uk will monitor it for any misuse. @journalismnews will alert followers on Twitter when the Timeline is updated.
