Digg, CNN start ‘Dialogg’ new program

Social news site Digg and CNN are partnering up during the political convention season to give voice to the Web electorate. Through a new program called Digg Dialogg, users will be able to submit questions to prominent elected officials and political-thought leaders via either Digg.com or CNN's user-generated-news site iReport.com. Questions can be in text or video form (video can be posted using iReport.com's user-submission platform). Once posted, the audiences for both sites can then elect to 'Digg' up or down these questions--essentially voting for ones they like and rejecting ones they don't--and the most popular queries will be used in real interviews, which will be published on the Web. The first Digg Dialogg session kicks off on Aug. 27 during the Democratic National Convention, with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi serving as the first interviewee. Digg and CNN plan to continue the program during next week's Republican National Convention with other yet-to-be-named featured guests. (Media Week)
