Bosnian Muslims unload coffins from trucks in Potocari, near Srebrenica, July 9, 2011. The bodies of 613 recently identified victims of the 1995 Srebrenica massacre were buried on July 11 alongside the 4,524 victims of the massacre already interred in the vast cemetery which faces the former UN army base.

The funeral was part of the commemorations of the 16th anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre when Bosnian Serb forces commanded by General Ratko Mladic slaughtered 8,000 Muslim men and boys and buried them in mass graves, in Europe’s worst crime since World War II.

Thousands of grieving Bosnian Muslims expressed hope that justice would finally be done now that the former Serb commander Ratko Mladic is on trial at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, the Netherlands.
