About EJC - Board of Directors

The Board of Directors includes senior members of many international professional bodies, as well as representatives from the European institutions and from the ranks of journalism educators.

Executive Committee

  • Ove Joanson (chairman)
    Former Director General of Swedish Broadcasting and CEO of the "20-Minutes Holding" in Zürich.
    He now runs his own company, "Media Conglomerate AB", which develops new media projects across Europe.
  • Vicent Partal (vice-chairman)
    Founder and Director of VilaWeb.cat an electronic newspaper based in Barcelona which is the main Catalan language site. 
    He has also been working as a foreign affairs correspondent in Central and Eastern Europe focusing on the former USSR. Partal is a member of the advisory boards of the Catalan Open University and the FC Barcelona official TV channel.
