Coffee and Cigarettes

That’s what this site is built with. Oh, and with Expression Engine, too.

It has taken us a while, but here we are. Eventually. Now what you see is what you get – and we hope you will find the website useful in your daily work.

We will be adding more resources and feeds as we go along and are happy to integrate any useful links and tools you may want to share, especially for our media landscape and resources sections.

We believe that a sharing of knowledge and tools will help journalists do a better job in covering the world around us. We hope that the website will be useful to all “media workers,” those working within organizations, but also those who are not employed in traditional newsroom environments; and that it can support all of you in doing what you are doing and what you feel is important.

We appreciate any comments and suggestions from our “readers,” knowing fully well that this website, at the end of the day, can only be as good as you make it.

To start it all off, here is a tag-list to give you an idea where we want to take the site and what we are interested in: convergence, audio/video on the web, web2.0, the future of broadcasting, the future of newspapers, blogging, citizen journalism, copyrights and creative commons, open source tools and shared knowledge, journalism training, networking and curriculum development.

So, enjoy the site and let us know what we can do to make it better.
